FAQ
- What is SHE?
SHE is a lightweight procedural music engine. It composes original multi-track songs from music theory, writes them out as a MIDI arrangement (the note-by-note instruction layer) and an audio recording, and keeps the reasoning behind every musical decision. It is built for music technology, gaming, enterprise, and education.
How it composes- Is SHE AI?
No. Procedural, not AI. There is no model, no neural network, and no training step. Every choice follows a rule a person wrote: taxonomies of chord progressions, rhythms, modes, and instruments, and the rules that connect them.
How procedural art works- Was it trained on anyone's music?
No. No recordings or third-party musical data exist anywhere in the pipeline, and every song carries proof of origin and provenance: a record showing exactly what it was built from.
Originality- What styles can it compose?
Any style a profile can describe. A genre in SHE is not a label; it is a profile of about 150 hand-tuned parameters across 13 concerns, from swing and syncopation to chord color, voicing, phrase length, which instruments lead in which section, and how the bass locks to the drums. Each profile is a difference from a universal base that its family inherits and overrides only where it differs, so 80 genres across 18 families ship today, 28 moods combine with them, and a new style is written as data rather than code: a profile named for a feeling is as valid as one named for a genre. From every combination, new harmonic possibilities emerge.
Song possibilities- Does it sing?
No. SHE composes instrumental music in five parts: drums, bass, melody, chords, and pads. There are no vocals and no lyrics. Audio renders today through a standard General MIDI soundfont; an original instrument layer, built with no recordings upstream, is in development.
- What comes with each song?
An audio recording, a MIDI arrangement, a plain description of musical profile, genre, key, progression, instrumentation, mood, tempo, and sections, a complete record of every musical decision, and a quality report. What a given delivery includes is set by the terms of each engagement.
Primary records and data- Can I edit the music?
Yes. The MIDI arrangement opens in any music production software, so every note and instrument can be changed, reassigned, or re-rendered.
Primary records and data- Can SHE trace the songs it has composed?
Yes. SHE has an extensive provenance and auditing capability that lets it trace and reproduce any song from its parameters and engine version. Every song carries its ID, its settings, and a record of each choice the engine made, so it can be reproduced note for note. If the engine has changed since, SHE reports what changed instead of quietly producing something different.
Recall by ID- What do people use SHE for?
Four things, mostly. Music technology teams train and test music models, and the software that tags, recommends, or analyzes music, against songs whose structure is known rather than estimated. Game studios take the separate parts and the structure data to build their own interactive music. Enterprise and background audio runs continuous streams where no song repeats. Music educators use it as a live theory engine to demonstrate modes, harmonic function, and song form, with every chord labeled as it sounds.
